Real Betis will aim to build on their good results when they welcome Alaves on Tuesday when they continue their La Liga campaign, after surprisingly defeating Sevilla in the Copa del Rey.
The hosts are currently sitting 3rd in the league, with 34 points from their opening 20 matches, while Alaves are 18th, having collected 17 points from their 20 games this season.
Betis overturned the game from a goal down to defeat Sevilla in the last-16 of the Copa del Rey, with the match restarting on Sunday after being postponed on Saturday evening.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side will now get their focus back to their league campaign when they play Alaves at home, and will aim to returning to winning ways in La Liga, having failed to win in the league since December 12.
Betis have collected just one point from their last three matches but are enjoying an impressive season in the league, and they are very much in the race for a top-four finish at this stage.
On the other hand, Alaves were knocked out of the Copa del Rey in December, and they have not been in action since picking up a goalless draw with Athletic Bilbao in the league on January 9.
Alaves have held Real Sociedad and Athletic Bilbao in a draw in their opening two matches of 2022 but have not won in La Liga since defeating Levante 2-1 at the start on November.
Jose Luis Mendilibar was appointed head coach of Alaves at the end of December, and he has picked up draws in his two games in the reigns.
El Glorioso have found it difficult on their outings this season, winning just one of their nine matches, but they will have had much longer time to prepare for this match than Betis.
