Rayo Vallecano and Levante conclude their 2021-22 La Liga campaign when they go head to head at Campo de Futbol de Vallecanos on Friday night with kickoff at 20:00.
Despite recording an inconsistent campaign Rayo Vallecano will be happy going into the last fixture in mid-table. They sit 12th on 42 points from 37 games, four points behind the 10th-placed Celta Vigo and six points above the relegation zone.
Meanwhile Levante struggled for form throughout the campaign and head into the final game of the season having already been relegated. Six points from their last three league matches saw them reduce the gap between themselves and safety to four points, but that’s not enough as only match remain now.
Therefore both sides have nothing to fight for on Friday, but will both want to close the campaign on the high. Levante won their previous fixture 3-1 against Alaves and head into the match in a confident mood especially with their host having lost their last two against Villarreal (5-1) and Mallorca (2-1).
The two played a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture earlier this season and we expect another close encounter here that could result in a share of the spoils. But Levante will fancy their chances as they are in much better form that Vallecano.
