Scottish giants Rangers will face Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven at the Philips Stadion for the second leg of their Champions League playoff tie on Wednesday night, with kickoff at 10 pm.
PSV Eindhoven was able to come away from the intimidating Ibrox atmosphere with a hard-earned draw against Rangers in last week’s first leg. Ibrahim Sangare scored in the 37th minute to open the scoring, but Antonio Colak equalized three minutes later.
Armando Obispo then headed home eight minutes later to even things up at two apiece. Head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy acknowledged after the four-goal thriller that a draw was a “fair result,” His side now boasts home advantage for the reverse fixture on Wednesday as they bid to reach the Champions League group stage for the first time in four years.
Rangers then drew 2-2 with PSV in the Europa League on Thursday before playing out a 2-2 draw at Hibernian on Sunday. The rangers led 1-0 at halftime, thanks to a penalty from James Tavernier.
However, Martin Boyle equalised for Hibs six minutes into the second half before John Lundstram and Alfredo Morelos both received red cards within nine second-half minutes. Rangers held on to their lead for the final few minutes of normal time, but Josh Campbell’s strike in stoppage time earned Hibs a draw.
