SC Freiburg vs Wolfsburg Match Analysis & Prediction

19/05/2023 9:30 pm

Freiburg, who slumped to successive Bundesliga defeats, hopes to bounce back against Wolfsburg on Friday night. The visitors moved into sixth place with a win against Hoffenheim last time.
After battling on three fronts all season long, Freiburg’s season is in danger of ending with a whimper following their recent defeat at the semi-final stage by RB Leipzig.
After losing last season’s DFB-Pokal final to Leipzig on penalties, Streich’s side was no match for Die Roten Bullen this time around at the semi-final stage, with Leipzig running out 5-1 winners to book their place in the final once again.
The Wolves will prove difficult opposition to Eintracht Frankfurt in the DFB-Pokal final, having put themselves in a good position to qualify for European football next season.
Whether sixth place will be enough to qualify for the Europa League or only the Europa Conference League depends on whether Frankfurt defeats Leipzig in next month’s final. Still, Wolfsburg will take whichever competition is on offer after only finishing 12th in the Bundesliga last time out.
