Rennes and Nice will be looking to return to winning ways in Ligue 1 when they face off at Roazhon Park on Monday night.
After a near six-week break for the World Cup, the hosts were beaten by Reims on their return to top-flight action, while the visitors played out a goalless draw with Lens.
Rennes saw their 17-game unbeaten streak across all competitions come to an end against Reims in their final game of 2022 as they lost 3-1 away from home last Friday.
Les Rouge et Noir have subsequently slipped down to fourth place in the Ligue 1 table, but they still remain in contention to qualify for the Champions League, with just two points separating them from Marseille in third.
Bruno Genesio’s side will be keen to bounce back quickly in their quest for a top-three spot, and they will be optimistic of taking maximum points on Monday after winning 15 league matches on home soil in 2022.

While Lucien Favre can take positives from his side’s draw with Lens last week, the result has highlighted Nice’s struggles in front of goal, having scored the joint-fewest goals in Ligue 1 so far this season.
However, Nice have scored in each of their last six Ligue 1 away matches and found the net in each of their previous three visits to Rennes, winning on each occasion, which bodes well for them heading into the contest.
