Istanbulspor vs Kasimpasa Match Analysis & Prediction
28/12/2022 5:00 pm
Istanbulspor will be looking to avoid an eighth consecutive league defeat when they play host to Kasimpasa at the Necmi Kadioglu Stadyumu on Wednesday.
The hosts are currently seven points adrift of their visitors, who sit just outside of the Turkish Super Lig relegation zone after failing to win any of their last six league matches.
Istanbulspor returned to competitive action last week with a 3-1 defeat to Fenerbahce in the Turkish Cup, leaving them to focus solely on their battle to remain in the top flight.
They had lost six successive league matches before the World Cup break, and that run extended to seven when they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Galatasaray on Sunday.
Having failed to win a league game since October 3, Istanbulspor face a tough task if they are to avoid relegation, with seven points separating them from safety.
After drawing one and losing five of their six home matches in the Turkish Super Lig this season, Istanbulspor will be looking for their first home league victory on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Kasimpasa are currently sitting just one point clear of the relegation zone, and they will also be looking to end their run of poor form.
Since returning from the World Cup break, Kasimpasa have lost successive matches by a 2-1 scoreline after a Turkish Cup defeat to Umraniyespor was followed by another poor result against Sivasspor on Sunday.
The defeat to Sivasspor extended their winless run to six matches in the league, and it was also the seventh straight league game where they failed to score more than one goal.
Although Kasimpasa may be the lowest scorers in the division, they can at least draw inspiration from the fact that they are unbeaten in their last four away league matches.

Istanbulspor have dominated in the previous 71 meetings between these two teams across all competitions, claiming 34 victories while Kasimpasa have won 19, and they have drawn 18 times. Istanbulspor have scored 122 goals and conceded 85 in the process.
