Palace vs Man United Match Analysis & Prediction
06/05/2024 10:00 pm
Manchester United will be looking to return to sixth place in the Premier League standings when they travel to Selhurst Park to face an in-form Crystal Palace side on Monday night.
Oliver Glasner has certainly made a positive impression since arriving as Palace head coach in the middle of February, with the 49-year-old, who replaced Roy Hodgson at the helm, boasting a record of four wins, three draws and three losses from his 10 matches in charge.
Palace will bring a four-game unbeaten run into this match, collecting 10 points from the last 12 available, having beaten Liverpool, West Ham United and Newcastle United before drawing 1-1 with Fulham last time out.
The Eagles boast a record of 10 wins, 10 draws and 15 losses from their 35 Premier League matches this season to collect 40 points, leaving them eight points behind 10th-placed AFC Bournemouth, but they are just four from both Fulham and Brighton & Hove Albion in 12th and 13th respectively.
Glasner’s side will be looking to make it three straight Premier League victories at Selhurst Park for the first time since October 2022.
Meanwhile, Man United can no longer claim a Champions League spot for next season, with the Red Devils instead battling to qualify for either the Europa League or Europa Conference League in 2024-25.
Erik ten Hag’s side dropped to seventh on Saturday after Newcastle beat Burnley, but a win on Monday would see them return to sixth place, potentially just three points behind fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur depending on the capital outfit’s result against Liverpool on Sunday.
It has been a hugely difficult campaign for Man United, who have already suffered 12 league defeats, but they can secure more domestic silverware this season, preparing to face Manchester City in the final of the FA Cup at the end of the month.
Man United are unbeaten since their late 4-3 defeat at Chelsea on April 4, but they have won just one of their four league matches since them and were held to a 1-1 draw by struggling Burnley at Old Trafford last weekend.
The Red Devils have won seven, drawn three and lost seven of their 17 away league matches this season, and they will be facing a Palace side who have also lost seven times at home in the Premier League in 2023-24.
Palace vs. Man United Head to head
In the previous 52 meetings between these two teams, Palace have claimed 10 victories while Man United have won 32, and they have drawn in 10. Man United have scored 89 goals and conceded 43 in the process.

Man United Team News
Bruno Fernandes, who was pictured wearing protection on his wrist on Friday, is a minor doubt for Man United, but Ten Hag hinted during his press conference that he is expecting his captain to be available.
