Cadiz vs Girona Match Analysis & Prediction

10/02/2023 11:00 pm

Cadiz will be looking to build momentum in La Liga on Friday when the play host to Girona at Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla.
The hosts are currently sitting in 18 place on 19 points after 20 matches, one point adrift of safety with 18 matches remaining to end the season.
Cadiz enter the contest off the back of a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Athletic Bilbao in their last league match at San Mames Barria.
At Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla this season, the Yellow Submarine have picked up 11 points from a possible 30 on offer in 10 La Liga matches. They boast a seven-game home unbeaten run dating back to October 2022 against Villarreal.
Sergio Gonzalez’s side have now won two, drawn two and lost two of their six matches after the World Cup break, with both defeats coming away from home, so they will be feeling confident of picking up a positive result on home turf on Friday.
Meanwhile, Girona claimed a 1-0 home victory over Valencia in their last La Liga match, putting them in 11th place on 24 points.
Michel’s side have scored 27 goals and conceded 29 through 20 matches this season, leaving them trailing sixth-placed Villarreal by seven points for a spot in the Europa Conference League Qualifiers.
The White and Reds will seek to address a poor run of results away from home this season with three draws, five losses and just one win in league away matches.
Girona’s last away victory came 2-1 over Quintanar del Rey in extra time in the Copa del Rey on November 13, with their league last win on the road coming by the same scoreline against Elche on 8 of the same month.
After failing to find the back of the net and losing by a 1-0 scoreline to Villarreal in their last league away match on January 22, Girona will be keen to find their attacking firepower against a side sitting in the La Liga relegation zone on Friday.
