Bologna will attempt to bounce back to winning ways when they welcome Atalanta to Renato Dall’Ara for their Serie A Matchday 30 fixture on Sunday night with kickoff at 22:45.
Bologna continued to struggle for form last time out when they fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat to Fiorentina at away last Sunday. Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side have now failed to win in their last Serie A matches, while winning just one of their last nine league matches, picking up three draws while suffering five defeats in process.
They currently sit 12th in the league standings on 33 points from 28 matches, seven points behind the 10th-placed Sassuolo with a game in hand on the I Neroverdi and most of the sides around them. They will therefore be looking to get back to winning ways in their quest for a top-half finish.
Meanwhile Atalanta have been doing well in their European campaign as they managed to book a place in the last eight of the Europa League following a 4-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen on aggregate. They claimed a 3-2 victory at home in the first leg before edging the Germans 1-0 on away turf last Thursday night.
However, back to Serie A La Dea have recently been struggling form, which was extend last time out as they were held to a 0-0 draw by a relegation-threatened Genoa at home. They have now won just one of their last eight Serie A matches, recording four draws and three defeats in the run.
As result Piero Gasperini’s side have dropped into the sixth spot in the standings level on 48 points with the seventh-placed Roma, while they are some eight points from the Champions League places now.
They therefore be looking to put their poor league run to an end as they look to maintain their European spot and avoid any further drop in the standings.
