Olympiacos vs Freiburg Match Analysis and Prediction

Olympiacos will welcome Freiburg to Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium for their second round tie in Group G of the Europa League on Thursday.

Olympiacos opened their Europa League campaign in Group G with a 3-2 defeat to Nantes at away last week, with Mostafa Mohamed and Evann Guessand sealing the deal for the French club, while Samuel Moutoussamy turned on his own goal to give Olympiacos a consolation.

The Red-Whites followed up the defeat with a 1-1 draw against Volos at home in the Greek Super League last weekend. They will therefore be looking to bounce back on Thursday and having won all their last five matches at home, they should feel confident.

Meanwhile Freiburg opened their Europa League campaign with a 2-1 win home win over Qarabag last week. They now sit at the top of Group G, joint on three points with Nantes and they will be hoping to take the lead on Thursday with another win, but that will depend on the results elsewhere.

The Bundesliga outfits drew 0-0 with Borussia Monchengladbach at home on the weekend, extending their unbeaten run to five matches across all competitions. The draw however ended their four-match winning streak and they will keen to bounce back quickly on Thursday.

Freiburg have won their last five matches on the road across all competitions and will have a good feeling of extending that run Thursday. Olympiacos are a tough side to beat at home though and thus the Germans will need to play on top of their game here.
