Manchester united will be looking extend their Premier League unbeaten run to four matches on the bounce when they make a trip to Carrow Road on Saturday to take on the bottom side Norwich City, with kickoff at 20:30.
Norwich looked to have started salvaging their season with victories over Brentford and Southampton and also draws against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle helping them move from the last spot to the 19 spot with three points adrift of safety.
However, Dean Smith’s side suffered a setback last weekend when they lost 3-0 to a resurgent Tottenham Hotspurs. The defeat saw the Canaries slip back to the bottom spot and are boasting 10 points from their 15 matches, but are level on point with fellow relegation candidates, Newcastle and Burnley and are all three points adrift of safety.
Norwich have a tough December with matches against Aston Villa, West Ham and Arsenal on the wait after this match against United and hence Dean Smith has his work cut for his and will be fascinating to see where the club are in table by the end of the month.
Meanwhile Manchester United got off to a successful start to the Ralf Rangnick era thanks to a wonderful strike from Fred in the 77th minute of the game that earned Manchester United a much needed win over Crystal Palace last Sunday. The triumph moved United into the sixth position in the Premier League standings a point above Arsenal and just three points outside the top four.
Ralf will be looking to secure his third match without defeat across all competition as his experimental youthful squad secured a 1-1 draw against Young Boys I the final group match of the UEFA Champions League in the midweek.
Now back to the Premier League the German will welcome the majority of his big-hitters back for Saturday’s clast with Norwich and United will fancy their chances as they have won eight of their last 10 meetings against their hosts.
