Napoli welcomes Leicester to Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Thursday night for a crucial final group stage of UEFA Europa League with kickoff at 20:45.
Group C is the tightest of Europa League groups with the top sided separate by just two points with the bottom side. Leicester City top the group on eight points from their five matches, Spartak Moscow sit in the second but level on seven points with third-placed Napoli and Legia Warsaw are in the fourth on six points.
This means that all four can still advance to the knockout stage heading into the last match and three of the four can finish on top. A win for Leicester on Thursday will have them finish on top while a draw will put them in a strong position to qualify. However, they will finish second if their lose and the other Group C match is drawn.
Napoli meanwhile, will finish top if they but will hope that Spartak Moscow drop points against Legia and will finish second is both they and Spartak win. However, they will finish third if they lose and Spartak wins and will finish fourth if they lose and Legia wins.
It’s is really an interesting group this one and the two matches are among the toughest fixtures on the night as all four will be in for victory. Both Napoli and Leicester will need to work a bit more than they have been in the recent weeks as both have just won one of their last three respective league matches. They both are coming off defeats with Napoli losing 3-2 Atalanta a defeat that saw them slip to the third place in Serie A, while Leicester lost 2-1 to Aston Villa slipping to the 11th in Premier League.
Both will therefore want to bounce back as they aim at ending their dreadful runs and secure a place in the knockout stages. This will be a really feisty match that Napoli will look to use their home advantage.
