Millwall vs Queens Park Rangers Match Analysis and prediction

QPR will be looking to bounce back to winning ways when they make a short trip to The Den to take on Millwall in an important Championship encounter on Tuesday night with kickoff at 22:00.

Millwall returned to winning ways on the weekend when they saw off a resilient Cardiff City side 2-1 on Saturday with Murray Wallace and Mason Bennett getting the goals. Prior to the win Gary Rowett’s men were coming of two winless matches recording a 0-0 draw against Preston first before suffering a 3-0 to Fulham a week later.

Millwall are currently on the cusp of being out of the playoff race as they sit 15th on 40 points, nine points outside the top-six and thus Rowett’s side will be desperate for another positive result on Tuesday.

Although they face an uphill as Millwall’s last home win against QPR came in 2017 and have lost in four of their last seven encounters, but Rowett will hope that his side can draw confidence form their recent home wins against West Brom and Cardiff to get one over the Rs.

Meanwhile Queens Park Rangers saw their strong form of six wins from seven games across all competition crumble down to earth as they suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Peterborough United in the FA Cup on February 5.

They have struggle to return to previous form ever since as they have failed to claim all three points in their last two Championship matches, drawing 2-2  with Middlesbrough first at home before suffering a 1-0 defeat to Barnsley at away last Saturday.

However, Mark Warburton’s side remain in a relatively strong position given that they are still fourth and have a five-point lead over seventh, and could leapfrog Blackburn Rovers with a positive result on Tuesday.

They will fancy their chances given their recent record over Millwall and they are in a good away form having won all their last four matches on the road. Thus, they will draw confidence from that as they look to get closer to the direct-promotion places.
