Both Mallorca and Sevilla will look to bounce back to winning ways in La Liga when the face off at the Estadi de Sin Moix in their Matchday nine tie on Saturday.
After surviving a tough relegation tussle last season, Mallorca will be happy with their start to this season. they have won two, drawn three and lost three of their opening eight matches and currently sit 12th, three points and six places above Sevilla who are in the relegation zone.
Javier Aguirre’s men are coming off a 1-1 draw with Elche at away, which came after a narrow 1-0 loss to Barcelona. Taking on a struggling Sevilla, Mallorca will see this as an opportunity to get back on track.
Sevilla though will not be beaten easily as they might have been a few weeks ago as the arrival of former Marseille coach Jorge Sampaoli has breathed new life into Los Nervionenses.
They have now drawn their last two against Bilbao in La Liga and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. Sevilla were impressive in the European tie and looked as controlled as they have done for quite some time in Germany, only denied in the end by an inspired Jude Bellingham.
Therefore they are many positives to take from that performance and Sampaoli will hope his new side can build on it as they seek their second La Liga win this season. They are currently in the relegation zone, although they are level on points with 17th-placed Espanyol. Sampaoli is tasked with turning around their fortunes and he will hope to start here.
