Leicester City will be looking to put an end to their three-match winless run in the Premier League when they welcome top-four contenders West Ham United to King Power on Sunday night with kickoff at 19:30.
Leicester city have made a disappointing campaign this season and have failed to hit the same heights that they did last term. Their struggled continued in their midweek fixture where they fell to a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield with Diogo Jota netting the brace for the hosts on the day.
Prior to the defeat Leicester City bowed out of the FA Cup in the fourth round, courtesy of a disappointing 4-1 defeat to Championship rivals Nottingham Forest last weekend. It was a heartbreaking defeat for the Foxes who are the holders of the competition’s title.
Back to the Premier League the Foxes have now claimed just one points from their last three matches a run that has left them languishing in the 12th in the league standings with 26 points collect from their 21 matches, some eight points above the relegation zone.
A couple of more poor result could leave them in a relegation battle and thus Brendan Rodgers’s side will want to bounce back to winning ways but facing a Champions League-chasing side is unlikely to provide them any respite.
Meanwhile there is no denying that West Ham have been hitting bumbles throughout the campaign, but generally they have made a pretty impressive campaign this season and are currently in the top-four berth which is a massive positive for the capital club.
The Hammers are coming off a 1-0 win against the relegation-threaten Watford at home in their midweek Premier League outing. The win was crucial for visitors as it saw them climb back into the top-four where they sit with a point above both Arsenal and Manchester United but have played at least a game more than the two.
Therefore David Moyes’ side hoping that their win over the Hornets can serve as a catalyst for a fine run of results as they look to strengthen their position in the upper echelons of the standings in the upcoming matches starting with the Sunday’s clash. They will fancy their chances as they have not lost to Leicester in their last three and the last time they met West ham raced to 4-1 triumph.
