Huddersfield Town, looking for their first points of the new Championship season, will entertain Stoke City on Saturday at the John Smith’s Stadium with kickoff at 5 pm.
Huddersfield Town has been busy in the transfer market this summer, as Carlos Corberan’s side fell just short of reaching the Championship playoffs last season, losing 1-0 at the hands of Nottingham Forest.
With key players Lewis O’Brien and Harry Toffolo departing alongside Corberan, Levi Colwill’s loan deal ended, with Danny Schofield now at the helm in West Yorkshire.
Their season began with a home contest against newly-relegated Burnley, and Ian Maatsen’s first-half goal proved enough to give the visitors a dominant display over their hosts. This is before Birmingham City visited John Smith’s Stadium for their second campaign outing.
Stoke City will make the trip to Charlton Athletic on Saturday, hoping to improve on their start to the season after suffering a loss in their first league game. The Potters finished 14th last season, but they’ve had a good summer and began with a trip to Millwall – where they were beaten 2-0. They then hosted Blackpool and beat them 2-0, with Harry Clarke and Jacob Brown scoring for the home side.

Huddersfield Team News
New signing David Kasumu is unlikely to play this weekend as he continues to recover from his injury. Matty Pearson will likely also miss out with an injury, while defender Yuta Nakayama was handed a first start for the club in their cup game against Preston and may be a candidate for the left-back spot alongside Tom Lees.
Stoke City Team News
Stoke also has several injury issues, as centre-back Harry Souttar and attacking midfielder Nick Powell are out. O’Neill should start with his best players against Middlesbrough, with Aden Flint, Ben Wilmot, Lewis Baker, and Josh Tymon set to come back from the outset.
