Huddersfield Town and Nottingham Forest will be fighting for a place in the Premier League next season when they lock horns in the Championship Playoffs at Wembley Stadium on Sunday evening with kickoff at 18:30 EAT.
Both sides made impressive campaigns in the Championship with Huddersfield finishing the season third on 82 points, two points above fourth-placed Nottingham Forest. The two saw out Luton Town and Sheffield United in the semifinals of the playoffs.
Huddersfield overcame Luton 2-1 on aggregate after 1-1 draw in the first leg and a 1-0 home win in the second leg, while Nottingham knocked out Sheffield on penalties, but won the first leg 2-1.
Now both side will be looking for a place in the top-tier, but Huddersfield will fancy their chances as they are in better form than their opponents, having gone unbeaten in their last nine games claiming seven victories and two draws in the run. Nottingham meanwhile, have lost two of their last nine games, but have claimed six victories in the run.
Also Forest have won twice over Huddersfield this season, 2-0 in the Championship and 2-1 in FA Cup. Huddersfield won 1-0 in the other Championship encounter. Therefore, this will be a close encounter and the occasion add more pressure to the encounter as the winner plays top-flight football next season.
