Huddersfield Town managerless side welcomes Cardiff City to the John Smith’s Stadium for their Championship encounter on Saturday, with kickoff at 5 pm.
Following the club’s 2-1 home defeat against Wigan Athletic on Tuesday night, Huddersfield head coach Danny Schofield was relieved of his duties Wednesday.
Schofield took over at the beginning of the season following the departure of Carlos Corberan in July and lost seven of his nine games in charge.
Former Terriers boss David Wagner is the bookmakers’ favourite to replace him. Still, in the meantime, Narcis Pelach and Paul Harsley will lead the first team for their clash with Cardiff City on Saturday.
Cardiff ended a six-match winless streak in the Championship when they claimed a 3-2 home win over Middlesbrough on Tuesday.
The Bluebirds raced into a three-goal lead in the opening 45 minutes at the Riverside Stadium courtesy of strikes from Callum O’Dowda, Mark Harris, and Perry Ng, netting as many goals as in their previous eight matches across all competitions.
Boro pulled two goals back in the final 15 minutes of the second half, but Steve Morison’s men held on to claim their third campaign victory.

Huddersfield Town Team News
Huddersfield duo Matty Pearson and Tyreece Simpson remain the club’s only two injury concerns as they recover from foot and knee problems. It remains to be seen how Paul Pelach and Jimmy Harsley will set up the team this weekend, but they are likely to continue with a 3-5-2 formation for the time being.
Cardiff City Team News
Cardiff midfielder Joe Ralls will miss this weekend’s match after picking up an injury in last weekend’s win at Middlesbrough, while Jamilu Collins and Kion Etete are both sidelined with ACL and ankle problems, respectively. Romaine Sawyers is the most likely candidate to replace Ralls in the starting lineup, joining Ryan Wintle and Andy Rinomhota in center-midfield.
