Fulham will look to take another step towards their automatic promotion to the Premier League next season when they welcome Coventry City to Craven Cottage for their Championship Matchday 41 tie on Sunday evening with kickoff at 17:00 EAT.
Fulham come into the match off the back off a hard-fought 1-0 win over Middlesbrough at away in their league midweek fixture. The result extended their lead at the top of the standing to 11 points, putting them in the cusp of promotion.
The victory also marked their second consecutive victory in the division on the bounce as they were previously coming off a 2-0 away triumph over QPR last weekend. The Cottagers have now lost just one of their last eight Championship matches claiming six victories and a draw in the run.
Another positive result for Fulham this weekend will secure their promotion with still five-matches to go, and it’s what they will aim to do on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Coventry City’s inconsistency continued last tie our as they fell to a 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest in their midweek league fixture. The Sky Blues have now just won one of their last eight league matches and they are almost at the point of no return as far as promotion is concerned, as they sit eight points adrift of the playoffs with six games remaining.
However, Mark Robins will at least want his side to finish in the top half of the standings and he also want to finish an otherwise solid campaign on a high. They stunned Fulham with a shocking 4-1 victory in the reverse fixture earlier this season and that should give them some confidence heading into the Sunday clash.
