Fenerbahce are set to play Eintracht Frankfurt at the Ülker Stadyumu Fenerbahçe Şükrü Saracoğlu Spor Kompleksi in Istanbul this Thursday in the final group D match and a draw for Frankfurt would guarantee their place in the Europa League last 16.
Fenerbahce will come to this match with a disappointing record in the competition this season picking up just five points from five games and the Turkish outfit now cannot qualify for the knock-out stages of the Europa League.
Fenerbahce are on the third place with 5 points with only one win, 2 draws and lost twice and they now have secured a place in the Europa League Conference football next year.
Fenerbahce have had a difficult last couple of months after they made a fast start in all competitions but they now come into this on the back of a 4-0 thrashing of Caykur Rizespor in the league at the weekend.
On the other hand, Frankfurt are the top placed side with three won and drawn 2 times with 11 points. Die Adler aim to cement top position in Group D and a point would be enough to see them remain the best.
In the Bundesliga they have been struggling and are now placed in the 12th spot after winning 4 times drawing 6 times and have lost 4 times to manage 18 points in the 14 fixtures of the league so far. Frankfurt fell to 3-2 defeat to Sebastian Hoeness’ Hoffenheim in the league last time out.
It is impressive that they remain unbeaten in the continent competition. Even though they only collected a 2-2 draw against Antwerp last time out, Oliver Glasner and his squad will have total confidence of earning the result that they need.
