With a game over fourth-placed Wycombe, Exeter City is one win away from promotion to League One as they host mid-table Barrow in Tuesday’s League Two clash with kickoff at 9:45 pm.
At the weekend, Matt Taylor’s side edged closer to the third tier by beating Rochdale 2-0. Meanwhile, the visitors kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory over Sutton United.
Taylor’s side did what they needed to do against Rochdale and will be confident of gaining a positive result in midweek, as they have already beaten the Robins 2-0 on their turf earlier in the season.
Dieng and Jay struck either side of halftime, with Rochdale unable to mount more than a handful of noteworthy attacks in response.
The home side could even rise to the summit if results and goals go in their favour in midweek, with Forest Green due to take on Swindon Town at the same time. However, at the very least, a win would guarantee that Northampton Town cannot catch them before the two sides meet on Saturday.
Barrow’s goals and ambitions for the end of this season are different from those of their upcoming hosts this week. Still, the Bluebirds can look forward to another season of League Two football after beating Sutton United with ten men at the weekend.

Taylor could be forced into an attacking change for the clash, with Offrande Zanzala ineligible to feature against his parent club. However, Sam Nombe should be ready to fill the hole this week, with the 23-year-old now back in full training and able to make the bench for their win over Rochdale.

Exeter is the next visitor on Saturday, with Danny Kay’s sending off in the win over Sutton, leaving Brown with a decision to make on the left-hand side, where George Williams could deputize.
