Espanyol will be looking to snap their four-match winless run in La Liga when they welcome Valladolid to RDE Stadium for their Matchday Nine tie on Sunday.

Espanyol are coming off back-to-back 2-2 draws against Valencia and Cadiz in La Liga. The draws came after back-to-back defeats to Sevilla (3-2) and Real Sociedad (2-1).

The run leaves them sitting 17^th, one place above the relegation zone but level on six points with both Sevilla and Cadiz who are in the drop zone.

Therefore, Diego Penas’ side will be desperate to return to winning ways on Sunday as they seek to climb away from the danger zone. They are however yet to win at home in La Liga this season and have much to amend before the clash.

Valladolid meanwhile drew 0-0 with Betis at home last time out, making it their second unbeaten tie in La Liga on the bounce. They were coming off a 3-2 away win over Getafe previously.

The four points have seen them climb to 14^th place in the league standings, two points above the relegation zone and three outside the top half.

Therefore they will be looking to make it three unbeaten on the bounce with a win on Sunday as they hope to climb further away from the drop zone and closer to the top half. Valladolid have won their last two league matches against Espanyol and will look to draw confidence from that.
