Derby County will be looking to make it back-to-back wins when they host promotion-seekers West Bromwich Albion in an important Championship fixture on Monday the 27th at the Pride Park with kickoff at 18:00.
Derby recently ended their four-match winless run when they claimed the three points in a 1-0 win against Blackpool at home back on 11th this month with Luke Plange earning Wayne Rooney’s side the important three points. They still occupy the last spot in the Championship standings with four points on board but that is because of the 21-points reduction that they faced earlier this season.
Rooney’s men are now 17 points adrift of safety and they need to claw back points as matters of urgency if they are to have any hopes of salvaging their miserable season. West Brom on the other hand were denied a third win in a row on the bounce when they visited Barnsley last time out as they were held to a 0-0 draw on 17th this month. Despite dominate position and the day Valerien Ismael’s side failed to find the breakthrough at Oakwell and as a result they have now slipped into the fourth spot in the Championship standings with four points behind league leaders Fulham.
Therefore, the visitors will be looking to bounce back as they aim at staying in touch with the two direct-promotion places. They currently boast the division’s best defensive record and will be confident of keeping their opponents at bay this time around as they haven’t won in their last two visits to the Pride Park.
