On Monday night, the top two sides in League A Group 1 of the UEFA Nations League will meet at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, as Denmark hosts Austria with kickoff at 9:45 pm.
Denmark’s perfect start to the European qualifiers came to a close at the hands of Croatia on Friday, who prevailed 1-0 thanks to a 69th-minute Mario Pasalic goal.
The Danes had been well on top for much of the first half. Still, Croatia had all their guns blazing after the break and managed to come away with all three points thanks to another excellent performance from Mario Pasalic. His marker is set to be announced tomorrow.
Denmark is still sitting pretty at the top of Group E with two wins out of two and will now face Austria in Vienna next month in what should prove another good test before they learn the fate of their final group opponents over the coming week or so.
Kylian Mbappe recovered from a recent injury to make an appearance off the bench against Austria, and—although one should never wish ill health on a player—Austria fans would likely have been frustrated at the Paris Saint-Germain forward’s quick recovery.
Before Mbappe’s introduction, Ralf Rangnick’s side was on course for a memorable win over the world champions thanks to Andreas Weimann’s opener; however, Mbappe’s 83rd-minute response forced a share of the spoils in Vienna.

Denmark Team News
Denmark striker Yussuf Poulsen came off with a muscular problem in the friendly with Montenegro on Friday and has been ruled out of contention for this game. There is still competition for Andreas Cornelius up front, though, with Martin Braithwaite and Jonas Wind providing options.
Austria Team News
Austria’s treatment room is not empty either, with Real Madrid defender David Alaba coming off against France with an apparent muscular problem. It will be difficult for coach Rangnick to take a chance on Alaba’s fitness here, as Philipp Lienhart has yet to return from a fever. This week, Gernot Trauner and Kevin Danso could form the visitors’ centre-back pairing.
Prediction and Odds
Hjulmand’s side is unlikely to be kept at bay on their home soil, but Austria held their own against France, and we think this clash will end in a low-scoring draw.
