Bristol Rovers will aim to return to winning ways when the travel to Crawley Town in their League Two match on Tuesday.
The hosts are still hopeful of reaching the top seven despite being held to a frustrating draw, while Bristol Rovers unbeaten came to an end at the weekend which saw the fall behind in the race for the playoffs.
Despite having created a number of chances on Saturday, Crawley had to settle for a goalless draw against Scunthorpe United.
The result means that John Yems’ side have lost only once in their last eight matches, but now with four draws during that period, it also means they have fallen 10 points behind seventh-placed Swindon Town.
A small ray of hope remains for the Reds to reach the playoff places at the end of the season, but those hopes are fading as each week passes by.
Another home fixture awaits at the Broadfield Stadium on Tuesday, as Crawley will be looking for three valuable points required to potentially reduce the gap on the sides chasing a playoff spot.
On the other hand, Bristol Rovers sufferd a rare defeat on Saturday, having fallen to a 1-0 defeat at Newport County.
In an even game between two solid teams, only a few goalscoring chances were created, but a goal was enough to secure the victory for Newport.
The setback leaves Joey Barton’s side down in ninth place, but with just four points adrift of Swindon in the final playoff spot, the Pirates remain well in the mix.
In the last nine encounters between the two, Rovers have lost to Crawley on just one occasion, and with three consecutive victories against the hosts, Barton will be hoping for a repeat at the Broadfield Stadium in order to get his side back to winning ways.
