Grimsby Town will host Carlisle United at the Blundell Park in their postponed Matchday Four tie on Tuesday night.
Grimsby suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Swindon Town at the weekend, ending their seven-match unbeaten run in the league. They will be therefore look to bounce back on Tuesday.
Paul Hurst’s side have had an impressive season so far and they sit 10th in the league standings on 15 points from nine matches. A win on Tuesday will move them two-places up the table with just a point outside the playoff places.
They are unbeaten against Carlisle in their last five League Two matches, but the last three have ended in a share of the spoils and they will need to be on top of their play to pick up all three points.
Carlisle drew their previous league fixture with Newport County at away, extending their unbeaten run to five matches in the division. They have claimed nine points from that run, moving them to 12th position on table with now 14 points and a game in hand.
If they win the in hand fixture on Tuesday, Carlisle will move above Grimsby into 10th-place, with three points outside the playoff spots. Therefore Paul Simpson’s side will come out all guns blazing for maximum points on Tuesday, but having not beaten Grimsby in their last five league meetings they need to play their top football to come away with something.
