Coventry City can move ahead of their 18th-placed opponents in the Championship standings when they play host to Blackpool on Saturday afternoon with kickoff at 5 pm.
Despite starting the weekend in 22nd place, Coventry has emerged as one of the form teams in League One.
The Sky Blues have lost just once in nine matches, claiming 10 points during their most recent four fixtures.
Although disappointment accompanied their game with Rotherham United in midweek—the pre-match favourites twice having to come from behind to earn a share of the spoils—it was another step in the right direction.
A victory on Saturday would catapult Mark Robins’s side up towards midtable while also allowing them to close the gap with other contenders by possessing at least two matches in hand over those teams around them.
Despite suffering four defeats in five matches between late August and early October, Blackpool can claim to have impressed either side of that streak.
Despite losing just one of their most recent five outings, the Tangerines find themselves just two points above the relegation zone.
Fortunately for Blackpool, they produced one of their best performances of the campaign last time out, scoring three times in the final 22 minutes to record a 4-2 triumph over North-West rivals Preston North End.

Coventry City Team News
Martyn Waghorn will be unavailable for Coventry City’s home match against Rotherham United on Tuesday after sustaining a hamstring injury in the team’s 1-1 draw with Rotherham on Tuesday. Forward Fabio Tavares is not likely to start, so Kasey Palmer or Callum O’Hare will be called upon to support Viktor Gyokeres upfront.
Blackpool Team News
As a precaution, Jordan Thorniley and Liam Bridcutt (who both suffered minor injuries against Preston) may not be risked at the weekend. Rhys Williams and Sonny Carey appear likely to be recalled in their place, but forward Shayne Lavery remains absent through suspension.
Prediction and Odds
We think that Blackpool will be too strong for Coventry on this occasion. They should take an early lead, but the Sky Blues will not be able to claw back the deficit.
