Celta Vigo will be looking to return to winning ways when the host Osasuna at the Municipal de Balaidos for an important La Liga fixture on Wednesday night with kickoff at 21:00.
Celta Vigo have been inconsistent this season with club recording six wins, five draws and nine defeats from their 20 matches to collect 23 points, which have left them sitting in the 14th position with six points above the relegation zone.
They head into the match in a good form having only lost two of their last four matches claiming three victories and one draw in the run, but are coming off two successive defeats across all competitions. They first fell 2-1 to OS Celestes in Copa del Rey before surrendering to an early goal to Real Sociedad in the previous top-flight fixture.
They will therefore be looking to bounce back as they seek climbing further away from the drop zone.
Meanwhile Osasuna have also made an inconsistent campaign this season with the side recording six wins, seven draws and seven defeats from their 20 matches to collect 25 points, which have left them sitting in the 12th spot with three points outside the top-half.
They head into the match in a poor La Liga form having only won one of their last 11 league matches a run that has them drop down into the bottom half of the table. However, they did well to put an end to their 10 winless matches in Spain’s top-flight with a well-deserved 2-0 victory against Cadiz.
They will therefore be looking to make it back-to-back wins on the bounce as they aim at breaking into the top-half as a win on Wednesday could potentially leave them I the ninth spot.
With two points separating the two sides we expect a cagey fight as both will be going for the three points, but Celta Vigo will fancy their chances having not lost to Osasuna in their last five encounters at Municipal de Balaidos.
