The Champions League hopes of Real Betis are once again on the line on Saturday at Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla against a Cadiz side who find themselves just above the relegation places.
The hosts are currently 17th in the La Liga table, having picked up 28 points from their 30 matches played, just two points above 18th-placed Mallorca in the relegation playoff places.
Cadiz managed to claim a 0-0 draw against Valencia in their last La Liga match at Estadio de Mestalla, which left them sitting six points above basement side Alaves with eight matches left to play.
On their home turf this season, Cadiz have picked up two wins, eight draws and five losses in 15 La Liga contests, and are now looking to extend a five-match home unbeaten streak dating to January 18 against Espanyol.
They are now seeking for their first league win in encounters between the two sides since November 2005, with Real Betis having outscored them 5-3 during their unbeaten run.
Meanwhile, Real Betis are currently sitting in the fifth spot in the La Liga standings, boasting 53 points from 30 matches, 16 points adrift of league leaders Real Madrid and four points below fourth-placed Sevilla in the Champions League places.
In their last match in La Liga action, they managed to claim a 4-1 victory over Osasuna at home, which extended their unbeaten streak to three matches and saw them sit two points above sixth-placed Real Sociedad in the Europa League race.
When the two sides last met in La Liga action, they played out a 1-1 draw at Estadio Benito Villamarin in August. Alvaro Negredo put Cadiz ahead in the 11th minute from the penalty spot before Juanmi grabbed the equaliser in the 22nd minute to ensure they shared the spoils of the matchday.
