Burnley will try to get above the relegation line when they play host to Leicester City this Tuesday in the Premier League with kickoff at 10:45 pm.
On Saturday, Sean Dyche’s Burnley side managed to rescue a 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace. At the same time, Leicester City’s most recent contest saw them gain a healthy Europa Conference League win over Randers.
They pulled off another great escape when Burnley was down and out, seemingly in the relegation zone. They extended their stay in the Premier League for at least one more season. Manager Sean Dyche is no stranger to coming up with trumps in relegation dogfights.
The Clarets drew with Crystal Palace 1-1 at Selhurst Park. Jeffrey Schlupp scored the first goal for Palace; however, a Luka Milivojevic own goal allowed Burnley to point to Lancashire.
Burnley’s three goals conceded in their last seven Premier League matches is reminiscent of the Burnley of old – not surprising since Ben Mee and James Tarkowski have a telepathic partnership. Only Manchester City and Liverpool have allowed fewer goals at home this season.
Leicester’s chances of a swift return to European contention in the Premier League remain bleak, but Brendan Rodgers’s side took a step towards Conference League glory by easing past Randers.
Moreover, Leicester would move to 11th place with a victory here, but Rodgers’ side has gone five games without a league win.
