This week’s super Sunday brings exciting and fascinating fixtures and among them is the Premier League’s Brentford against Leicester City. The clash is scheduled to take place at the Brentford Community Stadium with kickoff at 16:00.
Brentford have been one of the most cohesive units to ever win a promotion to the top tier and have made an impressive start to the campaign recording three wins three draws and two defeats in their opening eight matches to collect 12 points and currently occupy the 10th spot, which is impressive for a newly-promoted side.
Brentford by now should not be intimidated by any Premier League opposition considering the level of performances they displayed against Arsenal, Liverpool and most recently Chelsea. The Bees relentlessly attacked Chelsea last week but an inspired Edouard Mendy denied them a point having put a very spirited fight between the sticks.
Despite the defeat, Thomas Frank will take the positives from his side’s performance and will enter the clash with enough confidence as the Bees are in a good form having lost just two of their last eight matches across all competitions, while picking up five wins and three draws in the process. Also, the Bees posses a good team spirit that is really vital in these parts.
Meanwhile Leicester City made a slow start to their Premier League campaign picking up just two wins in their opening seven matches but the Foxes have been on upward form with the wins over Manchester United and Spartak Moscow potentially kick-starting their campaign.
Leicester were impressive in those matches coming from behind in both to cruise to a four-goal win and head into the Sunday’s clash with abundant confidence as they look to keep the momentum going.
The Foxes are now just a point behind their Sunday’s hosts and a win here will see them crawl above them making this a close fight as both sides will go for the three points. While Leicester are known for punching above their weight, Brentford are more of a well-rounded, albeit a touch less explosive, which will bring plenty of trouble to Leicester and hence we should be in for the most fascinating match of the weekend.
