Blackpool will be looking to return to winning ways when they entertain Peterborough United at the Bloomfield Road in a crucial and exciting Championship fixture on Saturday evening with kickoff at 18:00.
Blackpool have made an inconsistent campaign on their return to the second tier with the club recording seven wins, six draws and nine defeats in their 22 Championship matches to collect 27 points which have left them occupying the 17th spot with just three points adrift of top-half.
They faced a tough start to the Championship picking up just two points in their opening six matches. It looked as Blackpool were heading straight back to the third tier, but under the management of Neil Critchley the Seasiders were able to turn their fortunes arounds, claiming seven wins from their next 10 league matches and as a result they climbed up the table beginning November inside the top six.
However, Blackool have hit a slump in the recent weeks with the club winning none of their last seven matches, picking three draws while suffering four defeats in the run. They are coming off a 1-0 defeat to Derby at away last Saturday with the Luke Plange’s second half goal condemning them to their third defeat on the trot.
Blackpool will therefore be looking to put an end to their slump as they aim at climbing back into the top half.
Peterborough meanwhile, have made a poor campaign back to the Championship with club claiming just five victories in their 22 league matches, drawing four while suffering 13 in the process. They currently sit in the relegation in 22nd on 19 points with two points adrift of safety.
Darren Ferguson’s side head into the match in poor form having won just one of their last seven Championship matches picking up two draws while suffering four defeats in the run.
However, Posh are coming off an important 2-1 win against Millwall at home last Saturday and they will be looking to build on it as they look to salvage a season that seemingly destined for relegation.
