Heavyweights Belgium have been in good form in this World Cup qualifiers and will be looking to maintain their high standards when they travel to Kazan Central Stadium to lock horns with Belarus on Wednesday with kickoff at 21:45.
Belarus head into the match off a 3-2 defeat to Wales a match where Belarus lead for the majority of the match having come behind to lead 2-1 through Vitali Lisakovich and Pavel Sedko before conceding twice in the second half through Gareth Bale who got an injury time winner concluding his hat trick on the day.
Belarus have registered a poor qualifying campaign having only recorded one win in their last four matches in Group E. They have also displayed one of the worst defences in the group and the qualifiers having conceding 14 times in four matches including the 8-0 whopping from their Wednesday’s opponents.
Georgi Kondratiev’s side head into the match in a poor form as their have only won one of their last six matches with a four-match losing streak across all competitions. However, they have managed to find the back of the net in each of their last six games on home turf and will be interesting to see how they navigate the Wednesday’s clash against the World’s giants.
Meanwhile Belgium maintained their good form in the qualifiers as they cruised to a 3-0 victory against Czech Republic last weekend with Romelu Lukaku, Eden Hazard and Alexis Saelemaekers all contributing to their third consecutive triumph in the World Cup qualifiers.
The win saw the Red Devils open up a six-point gap at the top of the rankings in Group E with 13 points from their five matches while the three goals saw them tally to 20 goals in the qualifiers which is the highest of all UEFA nations.
The Red Devils seem driven by their impressive talisman Romelu Lukaku who brilliantly continues to lead the Belgium’s line and will head into the match with three goals in the last two matches.
