Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich will welcome rock-bottom Greuther Furth to Allianz Arena for their 23rd league round on Sunday evening with kickoff at 17:30.
Bayern Munich have made a strong campaign this season with the club claiming 17 victories from their 22 matches, while picking up a draw and four defeats in the process to collect 52 points, which have left them at the summit of the Bundesliga with six points in the clear.
However, the Germany and European giants have had a disappointing last week as they champions were undone in their previous Bundesliga match against a newly-promoted Bochum who raced to a 4-1 lead in the opening 45 minutes of the game, before Lewandowski score his score of day in the second half to end the game 4-2.
Die Rotten then followed the defeat with another sluggish display and were fortunate to come away with 1-1 draw against RB Salzburg in the UEFA Champions League thanks to Kingsley Coman’s late equalizer.
Julian Nagelsmann’s side will now be looking to respond in the Sunday clash as they look to maintain their lead in the Bundesliga.
Meanwhile Greuther Furth have had a tough welcome to the Bundesliga with the club recording a minimal campaign so far and have only managed to collect 13 points from the 22 league matches. They currently sit at the bottom of the table with five points behind the 17th-placed Stuttgart and are nine points adrift of safety.
However, Furth have been on a high recently winning two of their last three league matches and are coming off a a confidence boosting 2-1 home victory against Hertha and will be looking to extend their current form as they aim at salvaging their campaign. But in there way stands Bayern who they have fallen to in all their last four meetings scoring three goals while conceding 14.
