Barnsley and Stoke City are looking to put their defeats in the Championship behind them when they meet at Oakwell on Tuesday with kickoff at 10:45 pm.
The hosts had won three of their four matches in the Championship ahead of the trip to Derby County, giving them the confidence to meet with fellow strugglers.
However, the Reds suffered a 2-0 defeat to their fellow relegation candidates in a game in which Ravel Morrison managed to score a brace for the Rams at Pride Park, leaving Barnsley 23rd in the table.
It leaves them with just six points from the safety of 21st position with a game in hand, but Tuesday’s match will mark the first of three home fixtures in succession, welcoming Fulham and Bristol City on March 12 and March 15, respectively.
Stoke City was defeated 1-0 Saturday at the Britannia Stadium by Blackpool, which kept the Potters rooted to their 15th spot in the Championship and 11 points out of the playoff zone.
The Potters have a tough season ahead of them and have been hit hard by injuries, but they still have chances to stay healthy. The top six are out of reach for now, so Stoke should focus on staying out of the relegation zone and making a run at the playoffs in future years.

Barnsley Team News
The hosts will host Ipswich without Aaron Leya Iseka, Victor Adeboyejo, and Cauley Woodrow (all injured) against Ipswich Town tonight, but the hosts have no other injury concerns. Barnsley head coach Asbaghi may resist the temptation to change his starting line-up, as the recent form has been impressive.
Stoke City Team News
The visitors will be without Harry Souttar and Abdallah Sima, both of whom are injured, while Liam Moore is a doubt due to the injury he picked up against Blackpool. Moore’s expected absence will open the door for Ben Wilmot to start in a back three.
Prediction and Odds
Both teams are determined to return to winning ways after a disappointing run of results. But we cannot see past a draw.
