Barcelona vs Cadiz Match Analysis and Prediction

Barcelona will be looking to make it eight La Liga victories in a row when they welcome Cadiz to Camp Nou on Monday.

The hosts are currently second in the La Liga standings, 12 points behind leaders Real Madrid with a game in hand.

Barcelona’s hopes of lifting some silverware this season came to an end on Thursday, when they suffered a 3-2 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final, which saw them lose 4-3 on aggregate.

The Catalan giants are level on points with third-placed Sevilla, ane only three points ahead of fifth-placed Real Betis, so their position in the Champions League spots is not secure.

Barcelona are on a seven-game winning run in La Liga, including a 3-2 victory over Levante last weekend, with Luuk de Jong scoring the winner in the 92nd minute of the game.

Xavi’s side have the fifth-best home record in La Liga this season, picking up 32 points from their 14 matches, but Cadiz have secured points in eight of their 15 away league matches this season, and the Pirates are currently battling for their lives towards the bottom of the table.

Meanwhile, Cadiz are 18th in the table on 28 points, one point behind 17th-placed Mallorca with a game in hand, so they can still escape the relegation zone before the end of the season.

Sergio Gonzalez’s side were excellent on their return to La Liga last season, ultimately finishing 12th, but they have found it more difficult to compete during the 2021-22 campaign.

The Pirates enter this match off the back of a 2-1 home loss to Real Madrid last weekend, but they have been beaten in just two of their last eight league matches, which has kept them in touch with the teams just above them.
