AC Milan will host Juventus at San Siro in their Serie A Matchday Nine tie on Saturday, looking to put their European disappointments behind them.
The two sides recorded different fortunes in the Champions League in the midweek, with Milan suffering a 3-0 loss at Chelsea on Wednesday night, while Juventus beat Maccabi Haifa 3-1 at home on the same night.
Milan have now lost two of their last three matches across all competitions and would want to end that form as soon as possible. The Rossoneri have not had a smooth defence to the Scudetto so far, but they are not far off as they have only lost one league fixture and they sit fifth on 17 points, three points behind Napoli at the summit.
They claimed a 3-1 away win over Empoli in their previous league encounter and they will be looking to draw confidence from that as they look to extend Juventus Serie A problems this season.
Juventus have had a hard time in both Serie A and European campaigns, and they don’t look like title challengers at moment. They have won just three of their eight league matches and currently sit outside the European places.
However they seem to be finding their stride as they have now won their last two matches across all competitions, beating Bologna 3-0 in Serie A before the midweek success over Maccabi Haifa. Ma Allegri will now hope that his side can keep the new found momentum going as they seek to repair their Serie A start.
