19/12/2023 11:30 pm
Atletico Madrid will be looking to return to winning ways in La Liga when they host an in-form Getafe side at Estadio Civitas Metropolitano on Tuesday night.
The hosts will enter the contest off the back of a 2-0 defeat to Athletic Bilbao at San Mames, while Getafe claimed a 3-0 victory over Sevilla on Saturday to move into eighth place in the table.
Atletico have a record of 11 wins, one draw and four defeats from their 16 league matches this season, which has seen them collect 34 points, leaving them fourth in the table and one point behind third-placed Barcelona.
Diego Simeone’s side have been excellent at home, recording 11 straight wins across all competitions this season, so they will be glad to be back at the Metropolitano in their second-last game of 2023.
Getafe will enter this match in excellent form, recording four wins in their last five matches across all competitions, including three straight victories.
The Deep Blue Ones have a record of six wins, seven draws and four defeats from their 17 league matches this season, and they are just two points behind seventh-placed Real Betis.
Jose Bordalas’ side have not managed to overcome Atletico in La Liga since November 2011, but the points were shared in a 1-1 draw in the corresponding match during the 2022-23 campaign.
Atletico Madrid vs. Getafe Head to head
