Fresh off the back of a 5-0 defeat in the Wuhan derby, Wuhan Yangtze take on Shanghai Shenhua at the Jinzhou Satdium in round 10 of the Chinese Super League on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the visitors head into the game unbeaten in each of their last seven matches against the hosts and will be looking to extend that run.

Wuhan Yangtze suffered another league defeat as they fell to a humiliating 5-0 loss to Wuhan Three Towns at the Puwan Stadium on Friday.

After leading 2-0 in the first half through goals from Davidson and Ademilson, Wuhan TT continued the onslaught in the second half as Nicolae Stanciu and Kuo Yang scored either side of Ademilson’s second of the game to cap off a sensational team performance.

Li Jinyu’s side has previously ended their four-game losing streak with a 2-1 victory over Guangzhou City on July 4 thanks to goals from Asmir Kajevic and Felicio Brown Forbes.

Wuhan Yangtze have now won four and lost five of their nine matches to collect 12 points and sit 10th in the Super League standings, but could move into the top-half of the table with all three points on Tuesday.

Shanghai Shenhua returned to winning ways last time out as they narrowly defeated Hebei FC 1-0 when the sides met at the Jinzhou Stadium.

Following a dull first half, Jianrong Zhu came up trumps for Shanghai Shenhua as he came off the bench to score the only goal of the game in the 56th minute.

That followed a disappointing 4-2 defeat against Wuhan Three Towns on July 3, which saw their 11-game unbeaten run in across all competitions come to an end.

With 20 points from nine matches, the Flower of Shanghai are currently fourth in the league standings, level on points with third-placed Henan Songshan Longmen.

Goalkeeper Zhang Zhenqiang was withdrawn with a 68th-minute injury against Wuhan Three Towns last time out and the 21-year-old is a doubt for Wuhan Yangtze.

Should he fail to shake off the injury, second-choice goalkeeper Gao Xiang will replace him for what will be just his first starting appearance of the season.

Jianrong Zhu came of the bench to score the winner against Hebei FC last time out and he should earn a place in the starting XI.

He has now scored five goals in his last five appearances, and he should team up with Shilin Sun at the centre of the park.
