Wolverhampton Wanderers will be looking to continue their push for a top-four finish when they welcome Leicester City to Molineux for the important Premier League fixture on Saturday night with kickoff at 19:30.
Wolves are making rapid progress on their hunt for a European spot and with their current position, Bruno Lage’s side have also been seen as potential top-four challengers as they sit in seventh on 37 points, just six points behind fourth-placed Man United with two games in hand, and they appear to be finding their best form at this crucial stage of the campaign.
Lage’s men were desperately unlucky to lose 1-0 to Arsenal at home on Feb 10th, but they quickly bounced back with a deserving 2-0 win against other top-four seekers Tottenham Hotspur at away last Sunday with first-half goals from Raul Jimenez and Leander Dendoncker sealing the deal for Wolves. They have now just lost one top-flight match since December 11, winning five of their last seven, including four of their last five and have beaten Man United, Southampton, Brentford and Tottenham since the turn of the year.
The Wanderers, have been showing steady and eye-catching progress under Bruno Lage and they will want to continue their upward trajectory in the table at home this weekend.
Meanwhile Leicester City were expected to challenge for the top-four spot this season, but their disappointing campaign has been well documented and they currently sit in 11th after collecting 27 points from their 22 league matches. The poor campaign has left them sitting 16 points off the top-four and are 10 points behind their Saturday opponents.
Their inconsistency continued in their previous Premier League match where they almost picked up a massive confidence booster at home to West Ham, but a late goal from Craig Dawson levelled the scores and ensured a share of the spoils in 2-2 draw.
They have now failed to win in their last four Premier League matches, picking up two draws and two defeats in the process. However, the Foxes head into the match in a good mood following their 4-1 victory against Danish underdogs Randers in the first leg of the Europa conference league knouckout round playoff on Thursday night.
