Wigan Athletic will be aiming to strengthen their position in the top two of the League One table on Tuesday, when they welcome Crewe Alexandra to the DW Stadium.
The hosts returned to winning ways against Charlton Athletic at the weekend, while Crewe have lost five consecutive games in League One.
Wigan find themselves in strong position in their fight for promotion this season, having picked up 54 points from 24 matches.
However, the Latics’ form did take a slight dip, as disappointing draws with Cheltenham Town and Oxford United were followed by a 1-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.
Leam Richardson’s side managed to return to winning ways on Saturday, as Stephen Humphrys sealed a 2-1 victory over Charlton Athletic at home after Will Keane had cancelled out the visitors’ opener from the penalty spot.
That saw them move above MK Dons and into top two, and with at least three games in hand on every side in the top five, they find themselves in an enviable position in the battle to reach the Championship.
Meanwhile, Crewe will be desperate to put an end to a five-game losing run in League One as they look to improve their standing in the fight for survival.
After picking up three victories from five games around the turn of the year, David Artell’s side have dropped back into the relegation zone in the second half of the season.
The Railwaymen travelled to Accrington Stanley on Saturday, with a late Dan Agyei goal making no difference on the game as they ended up losing 4-1.
Now sitting nine points adrift of safety with 15 games left to play, Artell’s side face the difficult task of taking on the league’s second-placed side on Tuesday in their search for a crucial but elusive win.

Wigan Athletic news
Winger Jordan Cousins will again miss out as he continues to recover from an injury sustained before the turn of the year, while Charlie Wyke remains out of action indefinitely.
Will Keane and Callum Lang should again compliment a lone striker, having registered a combined tally of 24 goals 12 assists.
Crewe Alexandra news
Artell may want to make changes to his side for Tuesday, with Chris Long likely to come back into the squad next to Dan Agyei in attack.
Callum Ainley and Luke Murphy are both set to battle to start in the midfield after settling for appearances off the bench last time out.
Prediction and Odds
Artell’s side have struggled to keep things tight at the back recently, and the hosts have quality to take advantage and exploit a struggling back line.
