Wexford Youths will be looking to make it back-to-back victories in the Ireland First Division when they take on Longford Town at the Ferrycarrig Park on Friday night.
Wexford claimed a 3-0 away win over Cobh Ramblers in their last First Division fixture on Friday. The win ended their five-match winless run in the league, which included three draws and two defeats.
They now sit sixth in the standings with 20 points from 18 matches, and they will be looking to climb further up with another positive result on Friday.
Meanwhile Longford continued their inconsistent campaign last time out as they registered a 1-1 draw against Cork City last Saturday. They have now claimed back-to-back 1-1 draws in the First Division, making it six draw generally in the league from 18 games, where there have picked eight victories and four defeats.
With now 30 points, Longford sit fourth in the league standing, 11 points behind league leaders and thus they will need to bounce back on Saturday so as to stay close to the top three sides. A victory on Friday could leave them third, something they will be gunning for.
