West Ham United will be looking to extend their winning streak to four matches now in the Premier League on the bounce when they host Leeds United at the London Stadium in an important league fixture on Sunday evening with kickoff at 17:00.
West Ham made a strong start to the campaign maintaining the fourth-place for majority of the first half of the season, but the Hammers hit a slump from mid to late December where they recorded a six-match winless run across all competitions and were displaced by Arsenal from the last Champions League spot.
However, David Moyes’ side have rediscovered their momentum recently winning in all their last four encounters across all competitions, scoring 11 goals while conceding just three in the run and have also kept two clean sheets.
They are coming of a comfortable 2-0 victory against a lowly Norwich City in their last Premier league outing at home on Tuesday. The win was their third consecutive win in the top-flight and it saw the London club restore their fourth place going two points above Arsenal who have a game in hand and moved them to five points within Liverpool’s reach.
Wet Ham will therefore be looking to maintain their momentum as they aim at maintaining their status in league’s rankings and they will fancy their chances as they have not lost to their opponents in their last six meetings claiming a four-match winning streak.
Meanwhile Leeds United have not been at their best this season with the club finding themselves in the relegation battle in the first half of the season. However, the Whites eased their relegation fears with a well-deserved 3-1 win over Burnley in their last top-flight fixture. The win moved them into the 16th spot and eight points above the drop zone but have played at least one match more than the 17th-placed Watford and the 18th-placed Burnley.
The win also Marcelo Bielsa’s men put an end to their four-match winless run the England’s bigtime and will be looking to make it back-to-back wins in the league as they aim at climbing further away from the danger zone. They will also be looking to exact revenge on the hosts who saw them out of the FA Cup following a 2-0 defeat last Sunday.
