West Bromwich Albion will look to record their first win in the new Championship campaign when they welcome Cardiff City to the Hawthorns for their first league midweek tie on Wednesday night.
West Brom have made a slow start to the 2022/23 Championship Champaign with the side failing to win any of their opening three matches, picking up two draws and a defeat.
Steve Bruce’s side now languish in the 20th spot with two points in the league standings and will need to turn around their fortunes as soon as possible if they are to put themselves in contention for the playoffs.
They lost 2-1 to the current league leaders Blackburn Rovers at away. They were unable to complete a comeback after going two goals down despite Grady Diangana pulling one back and they will be determined to do better on Wednesday.
Meanwhile Cardiff City have made an impressive start to the new campaign in the English second tier as they have won two of their three opening matches and currently sit fifth on six points in the league standings.
They are coming off a narrow 1-0 win over Birmingham City at home last weekend, which saw them bounce back from their disappointing 3-0 home defeat to Portsmouth in the League Cup and a 2-1 away defeat to Reading in the Championship.
City will therefore look to build to build on the last weekend’s victory as they look to continue laying a strong foundation to the campaign. They however have been struggling on the road in the Championship having won just one of their last five away league matches and will need to be on top of their game on Wednesday.
