Watford vs Brighton Match Analysis and Prediction

Both Watford and Brighton will be looking to bounce back to winning ways when the lock horns at Vicarage Road for an important Premier League match on Saturday evening with kickoff at 18:00.

Watford have had a difficult time back in the top tier this season with the club only claiming four wins from their 22 Premier League matches, picking up just three draws while suffering 15 defeats in the process and currently sit 19th with just a point above the rock bottom Burnley, who have played two matches less.

The Hornets head into the match under their third manager this season following the appointment of Roy Hodgson who replaced Claudio Ranieri not so long ago.  Hodgson is still searching for his first goal and win in charge of the capital club after opening with a 0-0 draw against fellow relegation-threatened Burnley before surrendering to 1-0 defeat to David Moyes’ West Ham in their midweek fixture.

Watford have now failed to taste victory in their last 11 matches across all competitions, losing nine and claiming just two draws the process. They are also not in a good home form having lost all their last five matches at Vicarage Road and will need to make the most of their home advantage in their quest for survival.

Meanwhile Brighton have fairly made a strong campaign this season with the club being the draw specialists having claimed 12 draws from their 22 matches while picking up six wins and four defeats in the process. They currently sit in the ninth on 30 points some nine points outside the European places.

The Seagulls are also coming off a defeat as they were sent crashing out of the FA cup last Saturday courtesy of a 3-1 loss against Tottenham with Vyes Bissouma’s second half effort proving to be nothing but a consolation.

Back to the Premier League Brighton’s recent results have also not been particularly inspiring with just two wins from their last 10 top flight matches and have drawn each of their last three. They have also played out seven draws in their last nine matches on the road and were held 1-1 at Leicester City in their previous away fixture.

However they did ease to a 2-0 victory over Watford at the Amex in August in the reverse fixture and Graham Potter will want to replicate the result here.
