Vizela vs Porto Match Analysis and Prediction

Two teams will be getting back to action in the Taca de Portugal on Wednesday when Vizela will play host to Porto at the Estadio do FC Vizela.

Vizela failed to register their firsy successive win in the Primeira Liga this season last Saturday when they went down to a 1-0 defeat against Moreirense.

In that game, Brazilian forward Rafael Martins maintained his fine form in front of goal as he scored for the third game back-to-back in the second half to secure the victory for the visitors at the Estadio do FC Vizela.

That was succeded by a 2-0 victory over Belenenses on January 2, when Cassiano and Kiko Bondoso scored in the first half to end their run of two straight defeats in the league.

Vizela now turn their focus to the Taca de Portugal, where they have enjoyed an impressive run, securing three wins from three games, including a 1-0 victory over Braga back in December.

As for Porto, they maintained their unbeaten run in the Primeira Liga last time out when they fought back from two goals down to secure a 3-2 victory over Estoril Praia.

Andre Franco and Arthur Gomes put the hosts two goals ahead, then Porto rallied in the second half as Lius Diaz, Mehdi Taremi and Francisco Conceicao scored to turn the game around in their favour.

Porto are currently sitting at the top of the Primeira Liga standings with 47 points from 17 games and will look to maintain that momentum at the Taca de Portugal where they seek their 18th title win.

Their most recent victory came back in 2020, when they claimed a 2-1 victory over Benfica in the final on August 1, when Chancel Mbemba scored a second-half brace, before Carlos Vinicius responded  with one for Benfica six minutes to time.
