Villarreal vs Osasuna Match Analysis and Prediction

Following their narrow league defeat last time out, Villarreal will be looking to quickly bounce back to winning ways when they host Osasuna at Estadio de la Ceramica on Monday.

Unai Emery’s side suffered a 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad in La Liga last weekend, while Osasuna lost 2-1 at home to Valencia in their last game on October 7.

Villarreal have found it difficult to show consistency in the Spanish top flight this season, winning three, drawing three and losing two of their eight matches, leaving them in ninth place in the table on 12 points.

They actually boast the second-best defensive record in the division at this stage, conceding just three times in eight games, but have only managed to score 10 times down the other end.

However, the Yellow submarine enter this contest off the back of a positive result, as they defeated Austria Vienna 1-0 in the Europa Conference League on Thursday, which has left them top of Group C, already sure of a place in the next round of the competition.

Meanwhile, Osasuna have not been in action since losing 2-1 to Valencia, with Darko Brasanac’s goal in the third minute of stoppage time at the end of the 90 only proving to be a consolation.

They have won four, drawn one and lost three of their eight La Liga matches this season, which has left them in eighth place in the table on 13 points.

Like their hosts, they have found it difficult to score this season, finding the back of the net just nine times in their eight matches, suggesting that Monday’s game could be a low-scoring affair.

Jagoba Arrasate’s side have only managed to collect one point from their last three league matches, with their last success coming away to Almeria on September 12.
