VfL Bochum is still looking for their first win of the season as they host Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday with kickoff at 4:30 pm.
Bochum suffered their first-season defeat in Thomas Letsch’s debut as manager on Friday night. In a game marked by high temperatures and humidity, Leipzig ran out 2-0 winners against the Blues after dominating from start to finish.
Former Chelsea striker Timo Werner scored twice on either side of the halftime. Former PSG midfielder Christopher Nkunku added a third late as the visitors cruised to victory at the Red Bull Arena.
It was Bochum’s first defeat since their relegation from Bundesliga 2 last season, so Letsch will be looking for an improvement when his side travels to Eintracht Braunschweig next Saturday.
Frankfurt has performed well in the Champions League group stages, but they will need to continue their strong run to advance beyond the round of 16.
The German outfit got off to a terrible start in their opening game, losing 3-0 to Sporting Lisbon at home.
However, they narrowly beat Marseille on matchday two thanks to an injury-time winner from Steven Zuber.
Last time in the Bundesliga, Frankfurt defeated league leaders Union Berlin by three goals to one at Deutsche Bank Park.
