Verona will be looking to make it back-to-back wins in Serie A when they lock horns with a struggling Bologna at Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi on Friday night with kickoff at 22:45.
Verona have been on and off this season, just as their recent form suggests, with the club recording eight wins, six draws and eight defeats from their 22 matches to collect 30 points that have them sitting in the middle of the table with five points outside the European places.
They have been inconsistent lately with the side winning two and losing one from their three matches this year with the defeat sandwiched between the wins and prior to that was a draw, a defeat and a win from their three final 2021 league matches.
However, Igor Tudor’s side is the sixth-best performing side in Serie A over the past 19 fixtures, with the I Gialloblu recording eight wins, five draws and five defeats in the run while winning against tough opponents like; Roma, Lazio and Juventus while drawing with Napoli and Fiorentina in the process.
They are coming off a confidence boasting 4-2 win against Sassuolo at away last Sunday and they will be looking to produce similar performance and result in this fixture as they aim at climbing up the top-half of the table.
Meanwhile Bologna showed some kind of promise and optimism with the club losing just two of their opening eight matches, claiming three wins and three draws in the run and spent most of the first in around the middle of the table.
However, they have been struggling recently as they have only won one of their last six league matches, suffering five defeats in the run and as a result Bologna have dropped to the 13th spot and are on a brink of losing touch with the mid-table and top half.
But with a three points separating them with their Friday’s hosts who sit in 10th Bologna will be looking for the three points to stay in touch and Sinisa Mihajlovic will hoping that his side can exploit Verona’s home form as the hosts haven’t won in any of their last five fixtures.
