Venezia vs Sampdoria Match Analysis and Prediction

Both Venezia and Sampdoria will be looking to bounce back to winning ways when they lock horns at Stadio Pierluigi Penzo in their Serie A Matchday 30 fixture on Sunday afternoon with kickoff at 14:30.

Both sides were left empty-handed last time out in Serie A with Venezia falling to a narrow 1-0 defeat to Lazio at away last Monday night, while Sampdoria succumbed to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Juventus at home last Saturday.

There have now both lost all their last three Serie A games in a row, which has extend their poor forms with Venezia winning just one of their last 16 Serie matches, picking up just four draws while suffering 11 defeats in the process, whereas Sampdoria have won just two of their last 12 league matches, picking up two draws while suffering eight defeats in the process.

As result Venezia have dropped into 18^th where they sit six points above the rock-bottom Salernitana who have a game in hand on Venezia and are three points above Genoa who have played one match more.

However, with just three points keeping them away from safety and having at least a game in hand on most of the sides above them, Venezia still can avoid an immediate return to Serie B, but that will require them to start putting wins on the board – begging with the Sunday fixture.

Meanwhile Sampdoria have dropped into 16^th just two places and four points above the relegation zone and have played one match more than the 18^th-placed Venezia. Therefore, Sampdoria will also be looking to salvage their season and thus needing to bounce back to winning ways on Sunday.

With both sides seeing the clash as a must-win we expect a close and hard contested encounter that could settle for a share of the spoils just like the reverse fixture earlier this season, although Venezia have not lost Sampdoria in their last three meetings at Pierluigi Penzo.
